BURN-OFF OVEN

Strip It Clean. Recoat with Confidence.

A burn-off oven uses controlled high heat to safely remove organic coatings such as paint, grease, and powder coating from metal parts. Instead of relying on abrasive blasting or harsh chemicals, this thermal process breaks coatings down into ash and vapors within a controlled environment—leaving the metal surface clean and intact.

At D&K Powder Coating, our burn-off oven service efficiently strips coatings from metal components, racks, and fixtures, preparing them for reuse or recoating. The result is a contaminant-free surface that promotes stronger adhesion and delivers a higher-quality, more durable powder coating finish.

Items are placed in the burn-off oven and inspected to match the right cycle for their size and material. The oven raises temperatures gradually to safely burn off coatings without damaging the underlying metal. Organic materials break down to ash and gases during this stage. After the thermal cycle, parts cool and remaining ash residue is removed. The result is a clean surface ready for blasting or powder coating.

BENEFITS OF BURN-OFF CLEANING

Burn-off oven cleaning provides a highly effective way to remove baked-on paints and powder coatings, delivering a more thorough and consistent result than many traditional stripping methods. By using controlled heat to break down coatings, the process reduces manual labor and shortens preparation time, helping lower overall costs. It is also an environmentally responsible option, as it minimizes emissions and eliminates the need for harsh solvents or chemicals. This method is especially well-suited for racks, hooks, baskets, and other fixtures that build up coatings over time, allowing them to be efficiently restored and reused.
